    Since Mexico was not an independent constitutional monarchy Iturbide was proclaimed emperor of Mexico
  • Fall of Iturbide

    Republican leaders of Santa Anna took over to set up a republic ruled by their new president Guadalupe Victoria

    -Mexico won against france during the Battle of Puebla during the French-Mexican War
