    The Revolution began on a French plantation in Haiti in August 1791. The enemy at hand was the French .The French terrorized the enslaved Africans with brutal methods and were also kept powerless. Since the Africans outnumbered their masters, during the French Revolution they rose up against their French masters. The leaders of this revolution were the Africans/slaves and Toussaint L’Ouverture.

    The Haitian Revolution was a success. It was a success because the Africans/slaves gained their independence. On january 1, 1804, Haiti was declared the first black colony and freed itself from European control.
