    Birth of Muhammad in Mecca
    Muhammad was born in Mecca about 570. He was orphanead and was raised by his uncle. When he was a boy he worked as a shepherd among Bedouin. Later in his life he led caravens across the dessert and became a succesful merchant. When he was 25 he married Khadiji who was a wealthy widow. Muhhamad was a good husband and father.

    Muhammad receives first revelation at Mt. Hira near Mecca, and begins career as a prophet.

    Muhammad was visited by the angel Gabriel who recited to him a verse from the Quran. The event took place in a cave near Mecca. Muhammad went to the cave to meditate. He heard a voice say "recite". Muhhammad replied back with "What should i recite" he answered back with "Recite the name of your God, the Creator, who created man from clots of blood". Muhammad was terrified. His wife encouged him to accept the call, and he did.

    His great contribution twards the school was the "codifying and organization" . During his career, he learned under some of the greatest scholars , and expanded on their ideas, while still holding close to the Quran the main Islamic laws.
