  • My 20's Healthy Eating

    My 20's Healthy Eating
    Healthy Eating: My focus is to gradually cut out artificial sugars and unnecessary fats from my diet. Since my body's matabolism is slowing down, it is important that I do not make it any harder.
  • My 20's Physical Activity

    My 20's Physical Activity
    Physical Activity: My focus is to schedule physical activities for myself at least 5 times a week. Even if I am busy I need to set aside time to workout, to keep my body at its best. It is also important because bone mass will peak in my 20s so it's important to build bone through weight-bearing exercises like hiking, running and strength-training to reduce your risk for osteoporosis later in life.

    My 20's Preventive Health Care
    Preventative Health Care: My focus to get immuunizations for the flu and viruses as well as to have a gynecological exam and clinical breast exam and Pap test every 2 years. This is impostant to make sure that I do not have breast cancer and things are going okay. I will keep yearly doctor visits for this reason.

    Healthy Eating:My focus is to watch the portions of food I eat so I do not become overweight or obese since it increases my risk for chronic medical conditions; diabetes, heart disease, arthritis and cancer. Since my body is starting to work less effectively it is essential that I take vitamins, minerals and other nutrients, such as iron, folic acid, calcium, potassium, B vitamins, vitamin D, fiber and healthy omega-3 fats. These can help can help ensure good health.

    My 30's: Physical Activity
    Physical Activity: My focus is to get enough sleep. Like in my 20's it is important to stay active to help prevent breast cancer and osteoporosis. However, in my 30's I will make sure I get the recommend 8 hours of sleep since my body needs more time to recharge.

    Preventive Health Care: My focus is to monitor my body mass index, blood pressure and cholesterol levels to keep them within a healthy range. I will do this so that I can catch any early signs of chronic diseases.

    Healthy Eating: My focus is too limit the alcohol I drink. With age my health decreases and I should lower the amount and frequeny of when I drink. It is not good for my body and need to start watching out for my organs.

    Physical Activity: My focus is to find activities that relax me. I have been through a lot in my life and still have a lot of things to deal with daily but I have learned that stressing out is only holding me back and inhabiting my health. By finding relaxing activities such as golf and walking will help my body and mind relax and have time to take a break from the busyness going on.

    Preventive Health Care: My focus is to pay attention to my hearing and vision. At this age they can start to go and so I need to make sure that I am not futher damaging them and I need to make sure that I properly take care of myself, so that I can see and hear what is happening around me.

    Healthy Eating: My focus is to cut back on sodium in my diet. Decreasing the amount of salt I eat will help lower my blood pressure and by lowering my blood pressure I reduce my risk for heart attack or stroke, both of which are common diabetes complications.

    Physical Activity: My focus is to stay busy. I might or will be experienceing Menopause soon and it is important that I do not let the change my body is going through depress me. I need to stay in touch with my friends and find things to keep me preoccupied and healthy.

    Preventive Health Care: My focus is maintain my annual screenings for various cancers and health problems, such as heart diseases. I will also avoid over strenuous activity as my body is slowing down and I need to be more aware of my new limits.
  • My 60's: Healthy Eating

    Healthy Eating: My focus is to have a diet of healthy, whole, and nutritious foods. This means nuts, fruits, vegetables, a liitle dairy, and lean meats, poultry, and fish. I will stay aeay from a lot of red meat and too much dairy as I might not be able to digect these things as well as I used to. I will also pay attention to the state of my teeth at this age and see what they can handle.
  • My 60's: Physical Activity

    My 60's: Physical Activity
    Physical Activity: My focus is to walk everyday by myself, with a dog, friend, or husband. I just want to stay active while I can. I will also do water aerobics to stay healthy as well.
  • My 60's: Preventive Health Care

    My 60's: Preventive Health Care
    Preventive Health Care: My focus is to talk to my dentist about my teeth and the chances I have of keeping them passed my 70's. I will also take measures to help protect my teeth from damage and wearing.
