    Meeting of Estates-General
    The Estates General were summoned by King Louis XVI in May 1789 to solve France's financial crisis. They pledged the Tennis Court Oath vowing to keep meeting until a new constitution has been written.
  • Fall of Bastille

    Fall of Bastille
    An angry crowd stormed the Bastille.They stormed the medieval fortress becasue it held many political prisoners. They saw it as a vent for thier frustrations.
  • March to Versiallies

    The people of Paris and the rest of France were hungry and unemployed. A large mob, mostly women marched from Paris to Versiallies.The mob wanted bread and the king and queen to live among the people in Paris.

    As the new constitution came into effect, France was proclaimed a costitutinal monarchy. The National Assembly was gone as the Legeslative Assembly accepted no National assembly people.
