    The tensions in France reached a critical level. This was the day in which revolutionaries stormed the Bastille.
  • Women's March

    Around 6000 women marched from Paris to Versailles with weapons to storm the palace of Versailles.They demanded that the royal family comes to Paris to see what they have to live through.
  • Nation Convention

    National Convention voted to abolish the monarchy and establish the first republic. This form of government supported the execution of Louis XVI and Marie Antoinette.
  • Execution

    This was the day of the execution of Louis XVI and his wife, Marie Antoinette.
  • Reign of Terror

    This was the time in which the most executions happened due to the guillotine. This was led by the man Robespierre. 20,000-40,000 people were killed just by the guillotine alone.
  • End of Reign of Terror

    The creation of the Directory officially ended the Reign of Terror. The directory was a two house legislature in which the upper house proposed laws while the lower house accepted and rejected laws.
  • Napoleon Bonaparte

    Napoleon Bonaparte used force to overthrow the government (directory) and created the consulate (new government). He had created the Napoleonic Code in which all people were equal and were given no privileges by birth.
