Battle of Calderon Bridge.The Royalist Group caught up with the rebels. Hidalgo and Allende had numerical superiority, but General Calleja conducted his operations superbly. Also, luck was on their side, when a Spanish artillery shot a rebel ammunition wagon, resulting in an explosion and breaking rank of the troops. Hidalgo and Allende were taken captives.
