In 1524 the first attempt to rule El Salvador the spanish failed. Pedro de Alvarado came back again in 1525 and won and brang El Salvador in to the Audiencia of Mexico.. -

Pedro de Alvarado named the area after Jesus Christ he called it El salvador which translates to "The Savoir". Before he died he appointed the first governor. -

Napoleon occupation creates a revolution in New Spain . ONce Mexico won Everyone in Central America wanted independence. They create a joint independance from Spain. -

In and out of years the wealthy landowners were put in to power in the economy and legislature. The Constitution was changed many times because presidents wanted to hold onto power. Coffee gave the economy a boost. THe Economy is based off three things Coffee, Cotton, and Sugarcane. -
