  • Enlightenment Ideas

    Enlightenment Ideas
    In France, the poeple wanted to start a Revolution. They started to come up with different ideas that soon became called "Enlighment Ideas." These ideas helped France start a revolution. The people wanted a new governemnt, because there was so many economic problems. I think this event is important because it is what started the whole revolution.
  • National Assembly

    National Assembly
    The third estate delegates of France were eager to make changes in the government. They started a voting session to see if the poeple would allow them to become the "National Assembly." This was to end the absolute monarch. I think this event is very important because it was the first deliberate act of revolution.
  • Louis Tries to Escape

    Louis Tries to Escape
    Louis XVI, wanted his government to be ran as an absolute monarch. When he realized how good the National Assembly was coming along, he wanted to escape. The royal family tried to escape from France to the Austrian Netherlands. However, they were caught. I think this was an important event because it shows how well the revolution was coming along, by the National Assembly.

    n September 1791, the National Assembly completed the new constitution, which Louis actually approved of. This made a big change in France because they now rare controlled under a new and improved government. This event also created a Legislative Assembly, which had the power to create laws. I think this was an important even in the Revolution because it was a big change that happened in France.

    This war started badly for France. The prussian invaders massacred the royal guards and imprisoned Louis, Marie Antoinette, and their children. The governent was abolished, and had to be changed. This event was important because it was the revolution the France started.

    In July 1793, Robespierre became leader of the Committee of Public Safety. The period of his rule became known as the Reign of Terror. The committee had to protect the revolution. This event was important because the revolution had to be protected. This was a radical phase of the french revolution.

    The National Assembly wanted to control one of the main churches. The reasons for the assembly’s actions were largely economic. Taking control of the church,helped pay off France’s huge debt. This event was important because during the revolution, France was lossing a ton of money, and when the poeple of the church sold their to France, France recieved a great amount of money that would pay of their enormous debt.

    In October 1795, Napoleon Bonaparte joined the army of France. Napoleon and his gunners greeted the thousands of royalists with a cannonade. Napoleon Bonaparte became the hero of the hour and was hailed throughout Paris as the savior of the French republic. This was a very important event because Napoleon saved France.

    Napoleon had supported laws that would both strengthen the central government and achieve some of the goals of the Revolution. He wanted to get the economy running solid. This helped France become more stable. This is very important because it advanced France.

    Napoleon decided that he wanted to become emperor of France. His citizens supported him because he was such a phenominal leader. . On December 2, 1804, Napoleon walked down the long aisle of Notre Dame Cathedral in Paris, and was announced "Emperor of France." This event was important because Napoleon was willing to help the people of France with the revolution.
