Divided French Society/Financial Troubles
French socitey was split into three estates. The first estate was the Clergy. The second estate was the nobles and the third estate was everyone else. Many of the people were peasants but it also included doctors, lawyers, and people like that. There were many problems with the estates. The first estate was exetremeley weathly and had most of the power. The second had it good and had a little power. But the third estate was poor had no power but had to pay all the taxes making there economy bad. -
Louis XVI call the Estates General
Louis had call the Estates-General to meet. He had the each of the Estates Prpare a list of the Grievances. The third estate had wanted all peoples votes to be the same because before the first two estates get it 2-1 vote over the third estate so the third estate couldn't get what they wanted. -
