The goverment was in debt for the 7 year war and the American revolution drained alot of their money. The goverment was broken down to 3rd estates (The high, The middle, and the peasent) only the 3 estates payed taxes not the 1st or 2nd. -
Louis XVI Calls the Estates-General
The goverment was spending to much money so King Louis XVI. He hired a guy named Jaque Necker. Jaque tells the king to meet the estates gernel. So King Louis XVI tells the 3 estates to write a notebook on their greivences. -
