    Sunni Ali Conquers Timbuktu

    After establishing his empire as indepentdant from Mali, Sunni Ali conquered many lands during his rule over the Songhai people.
  • Invaders from Morroco Conquer Songhai

    The Morrocans wanted to control the salt mines of Songhai, so they invaded them. With them they brought a form of gun called an arquebus and a few small cannons. The Morrocans conquered great cities like Timbuktu and Gao.
