The English Parliament was established in 1215, for only Lords. his led to the rise of democracy and limited the power that the King had over the people. Parliament advised the King on his decisions and helped him make the decisions.

The Magna Carta was written in 1215 because the nobles wanted the King to understand that he was not above the law. The King was taxing high and exploited his power. This document was used to limit the power of the King, as well as establish a Parliament to keep the King's power in check.

The Parliament was changed forever because not only Lords could be in the Parliament, but Commoners were able to be in Parliament. These Commoners had to go through a different process, they had to get elected into Parliament. The Commoners had to be chosen by the English people to get elected. The English people had freedom to choose the person in Parliament.

King Charles I was a very bad leader. England was low on money because of him, people would fight amongst each other. On one side, there were the "Cavaliers" that supported the King. On the other side, were the "Roundheads" that supported Parliament. The war was caused because the King and Parliament had a very weak relationship. The King rarely listened to Parliament, especially when it came to funding, the King went to war after Parliament told him England had little money for war.

King Charles I was thrown into jail and executed because he would constantly break the law and not follow the principles of Parliament. He was executed on January 30, 1649, for these crimes. He was also executed because Parliament ruled that what the King had done was treason. He was beheaded on January 30, 1649 for crimes of treason.

The King no longer was able to tax without the acceptance of Parliament. Parliament had more control of the government and it started to take shape of a Constitutional Monarchy.
