    The conspiracy and their plan to overthrow the Spanish government from reigning over what is now Mexico was discovered. Josefa Ortiz warned Allende which then told Hidalgo so they were aware of the Spaniard's knowledge.

    Grito de Dolores
    The priest Miguel Hidalgo rang the bells of the church village of Dolores. People gathered in order to hear Hidalgo's speech about starting the war to gain independence. This event was marked in history as "El Grito de Dolores".

    Guanajuato's Attack
    Hidalgo arrives at Guanajuato and the Spanish are in Alhondiga de Granaditas hidding from the rebels. El Pipila burns the wooden door and the village turns into chaos. The attackers practically killed everybody inside.

    The Battle of the Monte de las Cruces
    Hidalgo is going towards the capital to gain independence. On the way, they meet the Spanish troops which were well equipped and trained. Hidalgo won the battle becuase he had more people to fight it with, but instead of going into the Capital, he decided to retreat.

    The Battle of the Bridge of Calderón
    Hidalgo was leaving Guadalajara when suddenly, Calleja, the leader of some Spanish troops caught up with them and started a fight. As the battle went on, one shot reached a rebel ammunition wagon and it exploded causing the rebels army to scatter.

    Hidalgo's Death
    Hidalgo was captured and sent to Chihuaha where he was trialed. Since he was a priest, the trial lasted longer but finally, the inquisition decided that he was guilty of treason and heresy.He was shot by a firing squad.

  • Battle of Temalaca

    Battle of Temalaca
    A fight in Temalaca, Puebla errupted between the spaniards and the rebels. José María Morelos led the rebels into the attack against Manuel de la Concha's troops. José María Morelos was captured and killed by the Spanish. At the end, Concha's troops won the battle. Vicente Guerrero continued the journey towards México's independence.

    Plan de Iguala
    The Plan de Iguala was secreted by Iturbide and Guerrero in order to create equality among the Peninsulares and Creoles, as well as the other social clases to have equal fairness socially and politically. Another thing this plan wanted to install was a constitutional Monarchy, in which the only religion would be Roman Catholicism.

    The War ended when the Viceroy O'Donoju accepted the plan de iguala and allowed Mexico to be liberated from Spanish rule.
