    Tennis Court Oath
    The Tennis Court Oath was a pledge signed by 576 of 577 members of the third estate who were locked out of the meeting by the other estates. They went to a handball court where the pledged "Not to seperate, and to reassemble wherever circumstances require, until the Constitution of the kingdom is established" The significance of this event is that the people swear that they will have what they want, and that they will do anything to get it
  • Storming of the Bastille

    Storming of the Bastille
    The Bastille at the time was a prison. A mob of Women along with men charged the prison for weapons and amunition to fight agaisnt the king and neighboring enemies. They charged the prison, killing the guards, then took all the weapons. unfortuntely there was little gunpowder in the prison. This is a key event in the revoltuion where the people of France fought against their king, killing his soldiers, and prepared for war

    Decleration of the Rights of Man
    Nation Assembly creates the Decleration of the Rights of Man that gives the people equal and free rights, the rights to liberty, property, security, and resistance to oppresion. It also declares that men are born free and remain free along with many other articles. This was one of the first shows of force against the king.

    March of hundreds of women to the palace of Versailles where the King and Queen lived demanding bread. They aloso demanded that the King move to Paris. The king agreed and was sent to Paris. This was the earliest events of the French Revolution. it encouraged many people that the king could be influenced by even the lowest estate.

    King Louis calls the estates-General, a assembly representing the three Estates. (Clergy, Nobles, Commoners) It was too fix their finicial problems in France, the Clergy and Nobles decided note to allow the commoners to vote, because it would give them (Commoners) the advantage. The Estates-General came to an end when the commoners created the national Assembly. This events significance is important because it shows the resistance the people had agaisnt their king

    Attacks on the Prisons
    in late 1792, France was afraid that foreign armies would attack paris and the inmates in the prisons would revolt and kill eveyone. Mobs of people charged the prisons, slaughtering hundreds. By september 6th, almost 1400 prisoners were killed. During this period in the revolution Paris is beginning to become afraid of its self and the countries around them
  • Trial of Louis XVI

    Trial of Louis XVI
    The Trial began on december 3rd, 1792. Louis XVI had 33 charges against him. The National Assembly declared him guilty, and was sentenced to death. This event was believed to be the end of the revoultion, France had gotten rid of their king and was now a democracy.

    September 5, 1793-July 28th, 1794. This was a period where anyone thought of conspiracy and joining countries who were against the new democracy in France were executed. The death toll was in the thousands, anything you said could possibly get you klled at this time. This event in the revolution symbolized the fear and lack of trust that France had with itself

    Robespierre was arrested and executed because he was accused of being the "soul" of the terror in France. Although the terror ended a few months after his death, there are no strong facts that show he was the 'soul" of the terror.

    French Lawyer who was one of the most influential people in the French Revolution. He was a memeber of the Estates-General who created the Terror and the Great Terror to capture followers of the King and execute them gain power ofr the revolution. robespierre would later be the center of the deaths of thousands and the great fear that he created in France
