    The second crusade led by the two kings, louis and conrad, was a failure. The muslims learnt about the attack and manage to defend themselves successfully.

    The third crusade is organised after the capture of jerusalem in 1187 by Muslim leader Saladin. Frederick Barbarossa led the crusade until he died. the Germans returned back to Germany after his death.

    Louis the ninth again attempted to conquer Muslim occupation this time in Tunis in North Africa. But as it was the hottest season of the year, many of the crusaders, including the king, died of disease.
