    Hidalgo and his intelectual comrades get together on their literary circles. Conspiracy ideas sruge from this and they start to form a plan. They come up with an uprising, to gain independence on Dec. 8.1810.

    The plan has been blown out, Authorities are now well aware of the conspirancy going on. Arrest orders are send to capture the leaders.

    Now aware of the situation (credits to Josefa), the rest of the conspiracy leaders take a rushed decision. While Allende wanted to hide, Hidalgo convinces him on doing the uprising, before its too late. Hidalgo rings the bells and unites the community with his cry.

    The army of angry mexicans, lead by Miguel Hidalgo, approached the local granary. With this victory they would be able to take control of Guanajuato. Led by El Pipila, they were able to bring the doors down and enter, killing and looting everything.

    Hidalgo managed to beat Trujillo at Monte de las cruces, showing angry indians are not to be taken as a joke. Thanks to his outrageous numeric advantage, he defeated a well trained, but smaller army. Now that they had measured to a big challenge and won, what would be the next step?

    Miguel Hidalgo and Allende take defence on The Calderon Bridge, this will be their last resistance. The two armies fought on Jan 17.14. The Spaniards were greatly outnumbered by the indians, but thanks to their training and some luck shots, they won. Hidalgo and Allende fall.

    Allende and the rest of the original Insurgentes have fallen, all except Hidalgo. Since Hidalgo had actual religous power, the church had to get involve and excomunicate him. One cannot simply kill a priest.

    Second phase, over
    Jose Maria Morelos carried out the second phase of the independence movement. He had a much smaller army than that of Morelos, but it was well trained and organized. On the 5th of november, the battle of Temalaca took place, Morelos and his forces lost, marking the end of the second phase

    The plan de Iguala was a revolutionary proclamation agreed by Iturbide and Vicente Guerrero. It included the 3 guarantees, which were protected by the Army of the 3 guarantees (commanded by iturbide) Iturbide designed all this for his own benefit

    After 11 years full of wars, betrayings, doubts, and greed, Mexico gained independence. It didnt quite reach the goal of becoming a republic, but they were happy with that little step. Mexico had become an independent monarchy
