    Throughout the month of January, The Battle of Calderón Bridge took place in the outline of the Calderón River. It was a battle between Insurgent and Spanish forces who look to flee to the United States to seek comfort and return with a better army. Finally, the smaller and more disciplined won the battle and resulted in the delay of the war for 11 years

    The Beginning
    The early months of 1810 consisted on the planning of the Independence of Mexico, it was planned to start in December 8th, 1810. During these first months of 1810, Miguel Hidalgo, Juan Aldama, Ignacio Allende and Doña Josefa Ortiz de Dominguez, gathered in “La Corregidora” house to plan the uprising and disguised the plot by making themselves known for participating in a literary club.

    The Spanish Discovery
    The leaders of the Insurgent movement were trying to gather the most amount of followers without being discovered and unfortunately an arrest warrant was issued in order to capture the leaders of the movement and to go through the proper procedures through the Spanish law. Through the inform of Doña Josefa, the other leaders were advised about the Spanish plans and could avoid capture and start to accelerate the uprising

    The Cry of Dolores
    This day was the start of the Mexican Wars of Independence which were initiated by the Cry of Dolores. After the Spanish discovery of the Insurgent plans, Hidalgo and the leaders were scared about their whole plan being destroyed and decided to anticipate the uprising. The Cry of Dolores was basically the Cry of battle done in Dolores, Hidalgo in which Miguel Hidalgo addressed the small army they had gathered and motivate for warfare

    After some days of warfare, the take of Alhondiga de Granaditas took place. The Insurgents after a series of overtakes in different towns, arrived to Guanajuato were the Spanish were gathered at the Alhondiga de Granaditas. An act of heroism took place in this day, as a miner known as El Pipila crossed the enemy lines and set the Alhondiga de Granaditas on fire which leaved the Spaniards with no chance and there was a lot of Spaniards killed

    Battle of Monte de Las Cruces
    In October, the Battle of Monte de Las Cruces took place, the Insurgent army led by Hidalgo and Allende won one of their most important and bigger mountains in the middle of the mountains between Toluca and Mexico City. It was the Battle who practically led the Insurgents to Mexico City before backing up by order of Hidalgo institute of finishing the War once and for all
  • Execution of Hidalgo

    Execution of Hidalgo
    After being mocked by a fellow priest that uncover Hidalgo from the Spaniards. Hidalgo was tried for treason and other crimes of conspiracy against the crown. Afterwards, he was taken to Chihuahua and a firing squad had to be made in order to do the job for his execution.

    During the month of November of 1815, the Battle of Temalaca took place in the state of Puebla between the Spanish royal forces and the Insurgent movement who was now commanded by Jose María Morelos and resulted in the capture and execution of him and the loss of Insurgent forces.

    The Unification of Forces: Plan of Iguala
    After series of negotiations, the Spanish forces led by Agustin de Iturbide and the Insurgent forces of Vicente Guerrero join to form the Army of the Three Guarantees that fought against Spanish royalist and signed a document called the Plan of Iguala in which they agreed on defending the treaty to fight for a Constitutional Monarchy, to recognize Catholicism as the official religion and equal rights for everybody in Mexico.

    The End, Treaty of Cordoba
    After 11 years of fighting, the Mexican Wars of Independence came to an end when Juan O’Donoju signed the Treaty of Córdoba and established the independence of New Spain from the Spanish crown and introduced the principles of the Plan de Iguala to Mexico.
