  • 321 BC: Rome defeated in battle

    Rome was defeated in the Battle of Caudine Forks by the Samnites.
  • 217 B.C: Battle of Lake Trasimene

    The 2nd Punic War vs Carthage. Commander Gaius Flaminius led Romans against Carthaginians. Defeat for Rome.
  • 133 BC: Roman Territories invaded.

    Germanic Cibri and Teutones invade Roman territories.
  • 13 BC: Theatre of Marcellus

    Dedication of the Threatre of Marcellus in Rome. Campaigns against Germania and Pannonia.
  • 70 AD: Colosseum completed

    Colosseum constructed completely. Important for Rome's entertainment and games such as chariot racing and gladiator matches.
  • 89 AD: Peace Treaty

    Rome and Dacia sign peace treaty. Emperor Domitian & King Decebulus sign this treaty. It is short lived.
  • 190 AD: Assassination

    Emperor Commodus is assassinated. Emperor Gordian III is born.
  • 292 AD: Diocletian's defeat of Saracens

    Diocletian's army defeated the Saracens & pushed them out of Syria.
  • 375 AD: Death of Valentinian

    Valentinian dies and Gratian becomes emperor. Gratian is the first emperor to refuse the title of Pontifex Maximus.
  • 476 AD: Collapse of Rome

    End of the Western Roman Empire. The Roman government ceases to exist, their next ruler is King Odoacer. After constant invasions and usurpations, Roman system collapses permanently.
