    Through the 200's Roman economy slowly deteriorated. There were less jobs and money. This caused inflation the government secretly put less gold in their coins to create more. The people discovered this and prices increased and thus ended the temporary fix. On top of that a plague came along and killed 1 out of 10 romans.

    During this time period Roman government was frail. There were 22 emperors and people grew less respect for authority. Rich stopped paying taxes. Very few children continued to get education. Slavery was also at an all time high due to the rich encouraging it. Everyone's moral compass was out of wack!

    A general named Diocletian introduced new rules to save Rome from it decline. He made new rules for Rome and proposed to divide Rome into 4's. In the end he didn't have enough power to make the people to obey him.

    An emperor was elected into office he was named Constantine. He developed new rules for Roman people. He forced to make the sons work their fathers work. Eventually he failed neither of the emperors could save Rome.

    After both emperors failed to save Rome fighting resumed once again. A new leader Theodosius took back control, and realizing that ruling Rome was no easy task he separated the empire into sections.

    During this time period the Huns came to Eastern Europe. They attacked the Ostrogoths. The Visigoths were scared they too would be attacked, so they sought refuge from the romans. They allowed to let them rest along the border and in return they promised loyalty. They broke the alliance and they became enslaved by the romans.

    Roman was defeated by the Visigoths rebellion. They were forced to surrender under the will of the Visigoths.

    A Visigoth leader, Alaric and his soldiers captured Rome. This was the first time Rome was defeated in 800 years. They burned down and looted the Roman Treasury. Then another germanic known as Vandals took over Spain and Africa. Vandals robbed and ran out roman land owners.

    Vandals then traveled to Italy and spent 12 days robbing Rome. They took all valuables and then burned it down.

    A Germanic leader, Odoacer overthrew the last remaining emperor, Romulus Augustus. No roman emperor ever ruled again. Rome has fallen. Soon the Visigoths killed Odoacer after 13 years of ruling. After that Germanic kingdom rose and the Visigoths took over Rome.

    Although Rome has fallen many of the traditions remained. They adopted the Latin language, Roman, and Christian Religion. After the Roman Empire became the Byzantine Empire, Eastern Rome lasted up to 1,000 more years
