    The French and Great Britain fought over land. The war took place in North America. Great Britain was the victim and France was the aggressor. Great Britain won the war and they took land from France.
  • American Revolution

    Wanted liberty from Great Britain and their oppression.
    This was occurring in North America. Britain was the aggressor in that they tried to oppress them again. America won and we know that because the constitution was formed and Britain’s control was taken away from America.

    French people wanted their rights and and were influenced by Enlightenment ideas. It happened in France. The aggressor was France and they fought Austria and Prussia. They were unsuccessful in their revolution because they could not overthrow the monarchy.
  • Haitian Revolution

    Haiti was fighting to abolish slavery and create an individual state from France.
    This happened in Haiti.
    Aggressor is Haiti and the victim is France. They were successful because slavery was abolished and they got their rights.
  • Philippines Revolution

    Philippines wanted independence from Spain.
    Occurred in the Philippines.
    Spain was the aggressor and the Filipinos were the victim.
    They were successful because they declared independence from Spain in 1899.
  • Mexican War of Independence

    Mexican War of Independence
    The revolution began due to dissatisfaction with Porfirio Díaz’s policies that favored the wealthy and industrialists.
    It took place in Mexico.
    The aggressor was the Mexican people against their leader.
    They weren’t truly successful because various rebel forces still existed until Lázaro Cárdenas took office in 1934 and made the reforms actually take place.
