    The prophet migrated from Makkah to Medinah 13 years after he first began preaching the religion of Islam. The Quraysh and their comrades, had decided upon killing the prophet, because of the fact that he was a threat to their religion. Allah SWT instructed him to leave for the city of Yathrib, soon to become the city of the prophet. He remained there for the following next years, gaining more followers in the process.

The main motive of the Quraysh, was to effectively destroy Islam, as well as permanently stop the spread for once and for all, as they thought that it was a threat to their religion.     At the very beginning of the battle, it was predicted that the defending Muslims would win the battle. However, as the battle wore on, the Muslims did not listen and stopped listening to the Prophet's instructions. An army of 3000, came from Makkah, led by Abu Sufyan. There were 700 Muslim fighters led by the prophet. The Muslims were outnumbered 50:1. They met at the slopes of mount Uhud. There were 50 archers set up at a nearby hill. In the end the Muslims retreated to the hills of Mount Uhud.
