    Romulus and Remus
    According to the legend on April 21, 753 Romulus and Remus founded Rome on the site of where they were raised by a she-wolf. Romulus and Remus' mother was impregnated by the war god Mars. Their mother was forced to drown the two in the Tiber river, but they survived and washed ashore on the Palatine hill. They were then raised and suckled by a she-wolf until a shepherd found them.
