  • A Collapsing New Spain

    (initiation) In the early months of 1810 there was political and economical instability. The creoles started demanding better jobs and equality.

  • The Discovery

    (Initiation)The spanish learned about the plans to revolt, many were arrested. Doña Josefa Ortiz alerted the creoles of the discovery of their plans.

  • Grito de Dolores

    (Initiation)Miguel Hidalgo gave the famous grito de Dolores which sparked the Mexican independence.

  • Alhondiga de Granaditas

    (Initiation)The battle of “Alhondiga de Granaditas” occurred this day. It left many dead on both sides but the Mexicans won.

  • The Battle of Monte de las Cruces

    (Initiation) On October 30, 1810 the battle of Monte de las Cruces occurred. This battle was fought by Miguel Hidalgo and Ignacio Allende against General Torcuato Trujillo.

  • Battle of the Calderon Bridge

    (Consolidation)Batalla del puente de Calderon, a loss from Hidalgo and Allende against the spanish army.

  • The Death of Hidalgo

    (Consolidation)This is the day Miguel Hidalgo was executed by the spanish military.

  • Battle of Temalca

    (resistance)Jose Maria Morelos y Pavon replaced Miguel Hidalgo. He led the insurgentes to the Battle of Temalca and was killed.

  • Plan de Iguala

    (resistance)Agustin Iturbide and Vicente Guerrero created the Plan de Iguala. The Plan de Iguala said that Mexico was to become a constitutional monarchy.

  • Treaty

    (Consummation)The end of the Mexican independence, the spanish sign a peace treaty with Iturbide.
