    After hearing about conspiracies, Spanish took action and found an entire arsenal of guns and ammo in Epigmenio Gonzalez’s house in Queretaro.

    Grito de Dolores
    Hidlago rings the church's bells and gives the cry for independence. This was the initiation of the independence movement
  • Toma de Alohndiga de Granaditas

    Hidalgo approached Guanajuato with 100 men to fight Riaño, and took over the Alohndiga de Granaditas with help of the Pipila
  • Battle of Monte de las Cruces

    Battle of Monte de las Cruces
    Battle of Montes de las Cruces, Allende and Hidalgo fought General Trujillo
  • Forced retreat

    Forced retreat
    Hidalgo and his army fought royalist troops, eventually had to retreat due to the explosion of their ammo wagon. They retreated towards the north to take refuge in Monclova, Coahuila. However, Spanish ambushed them and took them as prisoners who would soon be executed.

    Hidalgo was tried for treason in the Holy office of inquisition, prior to getting executed and having his head hanged on a post in the Alhondiga de Granaditas in Guanajuato.

    José María Morelos took over leadership of insurgent rebel army, but he was captured and escorted to Mexico City where he would be tried for treason. He was executed like Hidalgo.
