The independence was planned for Octobre the 2nd, unfortunately, their conspiration was discovered, which meant that the movement was in trouble. On September 16th of 1810, Ignacio Allende and Doña Josefa Ortize de Dominguez were caught in their house, Hidalgo was notificied of the discovery of their plans and knew there was no other choice but to start the independence with the "Grito" in his church, with a Virgen de Guadalupe banner. That's where it began.

He planned an ambush in Queretaro, in September 28 he took site of the "Alondiga de Granaditas" in Guanajuato, on October 17th he entered Michoacan and sited it, in October 25 Toluca succumbed in power of the Insurgents, in October 30 he fought the battle of "El Monte de las Cruces", on January the 17th he advanced towards "El Puente de Calderon".

The first one was from Caracuaro to Chilapa (October 1810 - August 1811): He wanted to site Acapulco but couldn't because his army got attacked, he then joined Guerrero and that's when they changed their route to Chilapa.

Miguel Hidalgo's troops battled against Felix Maria Calleja's army: the insurgents outnumbered the rival army.

He was judged in Chihuahua, and shot and beheaded on June the 16th

The second one was from Chilapa to Cuautla (November 1811 - May 1812): Morelos sited Chiautla and also the Capital, but the hunger and the dirt made him evacuate. (This is when the battle of Cuautla took place, one of the biggest battles in the Mexican Independece).

The third campaign was from Chiautla to Oaxaca (May - Novemeber 1812): The Insurgents sited Oaxaca.

From Oaxaca to Atesmalaca (November 1812 - November 1815): Morelos attacked and took site of the fort of San Diego and Acapulco.

And with his death concluced the second phase of the Mexican Independence.

After the death of Jose Maria Morelos, the insurgents didn't have a military leader. The movement got dispersed and continued as a war of "guerrillas". Vicente Guerrero and Guadalupe Victoria attacked constantly Perote, Jalapa, Orizaba, Cordoba, Puebla, Oaxaca, and others. The war of guerrillas continued until the end of the independence.

Plan de Iguala: it was signed as a result of messages of conversations between Iturbide and Guerrero; that practically concluded the independence war.

Juan O'Donoju signed this treaty alongside Agustin de Iturbide, this confirmed the consumation of the independence.

The next day, the independence act was read in front of everybody.

After the consumation of the Independence, Iturbide was crowned as the new Emperor of New Mexico, with the consentment of the Cortes Constituyentes.
