    Some years after Hidalgo arrived to Dolores, he met with Ignacio Allende. They trusted each other and Allende presented him his friends: Juan de Aldama (military man), Miguel Dominguez (Corregidor in Queretaro), Doña Josefa Ortiz de Dominguez (wife of Allende, La Corregidora), Epigmenio González (grocer), Marino Galvan (postal clerk).     First Move of Spaniards Towards Independence
    The Spanish moved in New Spain after the spill of the news of the independence, they first went to Epigmenio Gonzalez house where they found weapons and ammunition, and he was then arrested. This made the Spaniards realize that the movement was real and that they have to be ready to attack.

    At 2 am on September 16 1810 the “literary group” decided to start the Independence soon before anybody else would get arrested. The church bell in Dolores ringed by Hidalgo to call attention to the people before he gave them his speech explaining everything, which was later called this the Grito de Dolores

    Hidalgo began his approach to Guanajuato. When Hidalgo arrived he asked the independent named Juan Antonio de Riaño to yield the city and with this he offered protection of the Spanish citizens. Juan took the Spaniards to the Alhondiga de Granaditas, were Riaño gave orders to fire up the place in September 28

    The battle took place in Monte de las Cruces, Hidalgo went to Mexico City and later to Monte de las Cruces where they fought against the Spanish and lost the battle.

    The Spanish army started to get together once more under the Control of General Felix Calleja. Hidalgo and Allende fought with him a lot, and that same day in January 1811 the Spanish artillery shot some fire which made an explosion and caused death to the majority of Hidalgo’s army.

  • Plan de Iguala

    Plan de Iguala
    Iturbide asked Guerro for a meeting to be able to be at peace with each other, but Guerrero was not convinced of the sincerity of Iturbide and the ideas for an independent Mexico. There were many conferences before both of them could come up with their Plan de Iguala. So that the Plan was able to gain support it praised the Spanish in the New World and stated how Spain was the most Catholic, heroic and holy place. The plan had 23 articles but only 3 guarantees:

    End of the Independence
    When Iturbide was able to enter Mexico City, he had stopped the 11 years of war. The city was given gold keys that would not be used for locking the doors of irreligion, disunion, and deposition. This key would open the door to happiness.
