Josefa Ortiz de Dominguez did a dinner with other creoles to plan the Independence.

At this time, some creoles who either were afraid of doing the movement or just did not wanted to be part of it, went to the peninsulares and told them the plan that Josefa Ortiz de Dominguez was doing.The peninsulares wanted to arrest the creoles who were part of this so the Creoles were forced to execute the plan much earlier than planned.

When Hidalgo noticed that the Spaniards knew about the plan, his only solution was to anticipate the movement. Hidalgo went to the church in Dolores and told the people to defend their independence and just after that he did the “grito de la independencia” to motivate the people and get them ready to fight for their rights.

During this date there was war between the rebels and the Spaniards in Guanajuato. In this war, the rebels were taking over the Alhondiga de Granaditas by burning the front door of the building and this caused the victory of the rebels.

In this date the Battle of Monte de la Cruces took place and it was when the Spaniards had a fight against the rebels, the general of the Spanish troops was General Torcuato. The rebels won this battle over the Spaniards so Hidalgo became much more powerful than before because of the land and weapons they received.

January was a month full of wars. Both sides won some of them, the spaniards were not giving up because they knew that even though they were much less people than the rebels, they were much better in all aspects of war.

On this date, Hidalgo was arrested by the Spaniards and not only him but also other important leaders for the movement. They were arrested in Chihuahua. After arrested, Hidalgo was sentenced to death and he was killed in a very sadic and awful way so Morelos became the new leader of the Independence movement.

In November, the Battle of Temalca happened and it was where Morelos got killed. This made a lot of confusion to all the rebels because they did not had someone who they would follow anymore.

In this date, Agustin Iturbide and Vicente Guerrero made the Plan de Iguala. This plan consisted of three important things which were: the church would remain with the same power, the Creoles would have the same power than the fully spanish people and that the government would become into a constitutional monarchy.

After a long time of wars for independence, the insurgents finally entered México City and Iturbide was named emperor which it does not make sense because he is a total Spaniard.
