It is said that Agrippina poisoned Claudius so she could have Nero as emperor, and as Nero was at the time of the alleged murder, quite young, Agrippina would be doing the business behind the scenes whilst
    Nero would take the glory and popularity.

    From the start of his reign, Nero had him and his mother Agrippina on coins, as his mother handles most of the business of being an emperor because of the young age of Nero. In 55, Her face was taken off the coin. Nero did this to show that he was mature and able to run the empire.

    Nero believed that Agrippina was plotting to murder him. Before she could do anything, Nero ordered his soldiers to kill her.

    Great Fire of Rome

    In year 64, Nero is said to have caused a great fire in Rome that took 6 days to burn out. It is also said that he was merrily playing his fiddle whilst the city burned. After the fire he blamed the fire on Christians. This fire whether it be caused by him or not by him it made him less popular. It made him less popular to the citizens as now there was a famine of food and water as all the food was either burnt or destroyed and all the water was used up to calm and tame the fire.

    Piso conspires against Nero

    Piso, a senator under the rule of Nero, conspired and said that Nero was the one who started the fire. Piso and many other soldiers and senators created a loose plan to get Piso into the Praetorian camp, where the guard would acclaim him Emperor. The plan was loose as there were varying motives. Some wanted Nero to be replaced and some wanter emperorship completely banished. The conspirators were caught by a man named Michilus and after that, the conspirators were ordered to death

    Death of Nero

    The praetorian guards rose against Nero after the purge (fire) and the conspiracy by Piso. Nero after this fled Rome. The senate named him a public enemy and because of this on the 9th of June 68, Nero committed suicide.
