The revolution was successful. The man who defeated the rebel padre morelos claimed independence in 1821. Therefore the Mexican won their independence in the Revolution against Spain. -

The revolution ended on December 9 1824 when Latin America won their freedom and the rest of America united into a country named Grand Colombia.
