On August 21, 1791 The Haitian Revolution started. The Haitian slaves were inspired to revolt once they heard that the American Revolution was a success. The slaves decided to take charge when the realized that they outnumbered the Europeans. They saw this as an opportunity for revenge after the Europeans have oppressed them and made them do things they did not want to do. Leaders, Tousaint L'vourture and Jean-Jacques, help lead the slaves into freedom.

After thirteen long years of fighting with France the Haitian slaves won their independance. Their fight ended with Dessalines declaring Haiti and independent country, which left Haiti in history as the first colony to free itself from the Europeans control.

On September 16, 1810 the indians and the mestizos joined with leaders, Miguel Hidalgo, Jose Maria Morelos, and later on Augustin de Iturbide. The indians and mestizos did not have a right and were considered part of the Spanish Colonies. Later on Creoles joined them to revolt.

Simon Bolivar and Jose de San Martin were the main leaders that take part in the Independence of South America. The creoles did not have power and Napolean's conquest of Spain began in 1808 which triggered revolts in the Spanish Colonies.This caused Simon to lead over two-thousand soldiers through colombia ready to fight.

The Creoles, Indians and Mestizos fought but were defeated them when Padre Morelos was leading them so Miguel HIdalgo took charge. In 1821 Augustin proclaimed Independence in Mexico which left them celebrating in success

On September 7, 1822, Napolean's armies invaded Portugal to close ports of british shipping. Prince John, King John VI, and their family boarded ships to Brazil in hopes to escape capture.

After fleeing, they somehow got 8,000 brazilians to sign a petition asking Dom Pedro ( the King John VI son ) to rule Brazil. On that same day , September 7, 1822, Brazil's independence was declared.

The creoles fought against the Spaniards to see who would claim the land. The revolution ended on December 9, 1824 in the last war where they won their freedom from Spain.
