    The revolution began because of the mistreatment slaves were given by their French masters and the Enlightenment ideals the Creoles had made up to make the government system more republican. The slaves made the most impact by revolting with brutal violence against any white Europeans. Toussaint L ́Ouverture
    was the most recognizable leader in the revolution, leading the slaves to revolution and declaring deals with the French. Jean-Jacques Dessalines was another prime leader in the revolution

San Martin then followed that same desire for Argentina with more ideals of enlightenment. These two men led the revolution with their ideas and acts of forceful power in order to get the Spaniard leaders to back down. Creoles mostly led this revolution, having the economic advantage and educational standards.
