  • The old Regime

    In this system, the people of france were divided into three large social classes
  • Economic troubles

    France suffered a huge devastating decline. This caused alarm and fright especially in the merchants, factory owners, and bankers. Taxes made it very difficult to bring it back to normal.
  • A weak leader

    Louis XVI paid little attention to his people. They had a chance to improve but the king made it very difficult. Louis put off dealing with the emergency until he had no money left. His solution was to put taxes.
  • Stroming of the Bastille

    People gathered weapons in order to defend the city. On July 14, a mob searching for gunpowder stormed the bastille. He seized control of the building. Paraded on the streets with dead men heads in pikes.
  • Marie de antonniete keeps wheat in her house

    Marie de antoniette was rumoured to keep wheat in her house and peasent women were mad. They were armed with pitchforks and were mad because food supplies were so short.
  • Dawn of the revolution

    The third estate delegates were eager to make changes in the government. King ordered the third estate delegates to follow the medieval rule. Emmanuel Joseph suggested that the third estate members named themselves the National Assembly.
  • Fear spreads over france

    Rebellion spread over from paris to the countryside. Rumours spread that nobles were hiring outlaws to terrorise the peasants. This was a wave of pure panic. The peasents were armed with pitchforks and broke into nobles houses.
  • The guillotine

    It was the most humane way to kill the people. Claimed people would not feel even the slightest pain. It was a public enjoyment and attraction.
  • End of terror

    In july 1794 some members turned to robespierre. They demanded his arrest and excecution. He was excexuted.
  • War and excecurtion

    Russian forces were rushing on paris. The russian commander threatened to destroy paris if any of the revolution members harmed the noble family. They later massacred the royal gaurds and imprisioned louis, marie antionnet, and their children.
  • Jacobins take control

    most of the people who were involved in the government changes in september 1792 were members of the jacobin club.
