The effects of the 2 revolutions were very different. The American Revolution was very successful because the Americans were able to break free from the British king's rule and create a new government based on democracy. The French Revolution wasn't as successful because even though they overthrew King Louis XVI's rule, soon after Napoleon Bonaparte took over and became the overall ruler.

The committee of Public Safety led by Maximilien Robespierre executed about 16,000 revolutionist, mainly radicals, between September 1793 to July 1794. Robespierre’s soon fell when he made many decisions that angered the Committee of Public Safety and the citizens of France including claiming he is the leader of a new religion called Supreme Being. On July 28, 1974 Robespierre was executed.
