The Attack of Bastille was the mark of the beginning of the French Revolution. This prison and fortress gave off a look of royalty. So when the people attacked, they used it as a way to express that the political system needed a change. These people wanted the government to be split; for the people and for the government.

Many women that came from the markets in town, thought it was unfair that the King was living in such Relaxation. In anger, the marched to the King and Queen's castle to demand bread and other supplies. To add to their demands, they wanted the King to live among his subjects.

In response to the people, the King and Queen fled without telling a soul. Soon after they were captured and the people did not have any favor towards the King and Queen anymore.

This is the day that the constitution came into full effect, and was considered a constitutional monarchy. The National Assembly was now called the Legislative Assembly.

During this time, parliment appointed the successful Napoleon Bonaparte as the General of the French army. Also, The National Assembly appointed someone new to be the offical leader to govern France.

While facing a money crisis, France had to rely on it's military to keep the government standing. After this, Napoleon fired his directory and appointed his self as "first consul." This was the end of the French Revolution.
