This completely got rid of monarchy in France. It also got rid of the Legislative Assembly and the third estate was able to vote again. There was a new convention which showed how everyone was on board with everything.

While he was first consul france was in turmoil povery and corruption ws being spread throughout the whole country.

This was a good thing because Napoleon did not do a good job as First Consul, he led the country to poverty and now that he's gone the country can get better.
