    Francisco Franco was born in Spain in El Ferrol, a small coastal town on Spain’s northwestern tip. The 4th of December of 1892.

    Francisco wanted to be a sailor. Franco enrolled at the Infantry Academy in Toledo, graduating three years later with below-average grades. But a reduction in Spain's Naval Academy, caused him to join the army when he was 14.

    Franco married Carmen Polo, and they later have a daughter together named Carmen. At age 33 Franco became the youngest general in all of Europe. He was then chosen to direct the newly formed General Military Academy in Zaragoza.

    In 1925 France and Spain agreed to combine forces against Abd-el-Krim in Morocco. Franco was placed in command of the Spanish troops and Henri-Philippe Petain led the French Army. In 1926 Franco was appointed Europe's youngest general. Two years later he was appointed commander of Spain's new military academy at Saragossa. This involved him visiting military schools in Germany and France.

    This was the same of the White Terror and the result was to shoot up civil population. The Red Terror is various acts of violence from 1936 until the Spanish Civil War. The days of this terror were at the beginning of the war, the aftermath of the general's rising, and large areas of the country fell under control of local loyalists and militias.

    Franco declared Spain to be a monarchy, to apease the monarchists, but left the throne empty. Franco himself declared that he was the regent of Spain and regularly wore the uniform of a caption general. He ruled Spain with absolute power, banning political opposition and enforcing a strict censorship. The people were closely watched by military police, forced to speak no language other than Spanish.
