The cost of making a solid downpayment on a home would be high, but I consider buying a home early to be very important. I bugeted saving $5,000 dollars a year to have 15,000 dollars saved for the downpayment. In total cost will vary as it depends if I'm married or have children, but if I am married I would expect my wife to be saving part of her salary to hopefully double the downpayment of 15,000 dollars. Personally I want a home because it is a valuable investment for the long term.
