    The patriarchs of Constantinople,Alexandria,Antioch,and Jerusalem got huge amounts of of land in the form of gold.They aquired all of this so that the wealth of the church could be increased.The clergy enjoyed the swell in money in all of the Eastern Churches.This may have triggered people getting mad.
