    Peace of Augsburg

    It granted Christianity the permanent religion on the Holy Roman Empire. It was then up to the rulers within the empire to choose either Lutheranism or Roman Catholicism.

    French Wars of Religion

    The French Wars of Religion was a war between the Catholics and the Huguenots. The Spanish funed Catholics looked to try and end the English funded Protestants (Huguenots).

    Bartholomew’s Day Massacre

    King Charles claimed that there had been a Huguenot plot against the crown. So group of assassinations and a wave of Catholic mobs attacked the Huguenots during the French Wars of Religion.

    Gave Huguenots freedom of religion. Published by King Henry IV.

    30 years war

    Taking place in Germany, the war was between the Roman Catholics and the Protestants. The Catholics wanted absolutism across all of Germany.
  • Treaty of Westphalia

    This was the treaty that ended the 30 years war and brought religious peace in the holy roman empire.
