    German Crusaders under Conrad III stopped at Dorylaeum to rest and are destroyed by Saracens. They was so much treasure that was captured that the market price of precious metals throughout the Muslim world drops.

    The Third Crusade lasted from 1187-1192. The Muslims lead a successful campaign against the Crusaders such as at The Battle of Hattin where a large Crusader army was demolished, then later at Jerusalem. Pope Gregory VIII called for another large-scale Crusade to retake the Holy Land.
