  • Haitian Revolution

    Haitian Revolution
    The Haitian Revolution was successful against slavery and anti-colonial rebellion that took place in the former French colony of Saint-Dominique. It began in 1791 and lasted until the year 1804. The revolution affected the institution of slavery throughout the Americas. As a result of this revolution the French colonial government was banned which was a win for the Haitians and the massacre of the french which was also a victory for the Haitians.

    The Mexican War of Independence was an armed conflict meaning that there were weapons involved.it had to do with the peak of a political and social process which ended the rule of Spain in 1821 in the territory of New Spain. It brought independence to Mexico making it an independent country. one of the main reasons Mexico revolted was because Spain made a lot of promises to Mexico that they did not live up to which caused the people of Mexico to revolt against Spain to gain freedom.

    The latin American wars began with Mexico and Mexico tried to gain tenpence but failed in their attempt of doing so. After a war victory against Spain, they gained confidence and hope. After that more countries followed that example. Simon Bolivar was a soldier who helped 6 countries gain independence. As a result, he was able to gain a country and named it Bolivia. He also had a lot to do with the colombian government.

    Jose San Martin was from the country of Argentina which was under Spanish rule. Jose led the locals against the British and they learned that they did not need Spanish protection. San Martin helped liberate Uruguay and Peru but then he also went to free Peru of a Spanish stronghold. Jose led an army into The Andes to Santiago, Chile. In Chile, he builds a navy to transport him to Peru. As a result, he drives out the Spanish in 1820.

It also affected much of the country of Germany because it helped Germans oppose the idea of Liberism in thier government.

    This event occurred because the ottoman empire wanted to overthrow the Greek empire. Much conflict occurred and war happenned in which the Ottoman Empire lost. This took place in The Balkans.

    Italy was one of the countries to form from the territory of dying empires. Between 1815 and 1848, fewer and fewer Italians were happy to live under foreign rulers. Cavour Lead an Italian Unification. Many Italian nationalists looked for leadership away from the kingdom of Piedmont, the largest and most powerful of the states. The kingdom had adopted a liberal constitution in 1848. So, to the liberal Italian middle classes, unification under Piedmont-Sardinia seemed to be of good benefit .

    In the years of 1850, Otto Van Bismark wanted to conquer the entire world. The Steps he took to accomplish such goals was to improve the Prussian army. He went into war with France in the year 1870 and were victoriuos which allowed them to take over the German empire in 1871 January 21st.
