The Plague of Justinian was a pandemic that afflicted the Eastern Roman Empire including its capital Constantinople. It has been claimed as one of the greatest plagues in history. In the end the death toll was so high its inknown exactly how many lives were lost. This also caused Justinian to forget about uniting both halves of the Empire.
