    The Byzantine empire was a vast and powerful civilization. The emporer Constantine chose Byzantine as the location for "New Rome". The Western half crumbled and fell, and the Eastern half survived for more than 1,000 years. He chose the city Constantinople to be the capitol.

    Nika revolt took place against the empire in Constantinople. Nika means win or victory. Crowds broke out and began to assault the palace. 5 days it was under siege. The empire was overthrown.
