    Republic begins

    This is the start of the Republic period.

    Julius Caesar end Republic period

    Julius Caesar becomes a dictator for life which end the Republic period
  • 27 BCE

    Beginning of Roman empire

    The first leader to call himself emperor start the Roman empire.
  • 365

    Split of Ancient Rome

    Rome splits into two to make administration easier. The Western Roman empire and Eastern Roman empire have different rulers and capitals.

    Visigoths attack

    The Visigoths ( Germanic people ) attack leading to the weakening of Ancient Rome
  • 462

    Western Roman empire end

    This is when the last emperor from the Western side was deposed and the time of Ancient Rome ended.
  • 1453

    Eastern Roman empire end

    This is when the Eastern part of Ancient Rome ended; a long time after the Western part.
