    The civilization of ancient rome was at one time the mightiest of on the planet. In 753 bc, the city of rome was founded in central italy on the Tiber river. The two brothers Romulus and Remus fought each other for the right to found the great capital city of Rome. Romulus won by killing his brother Remus.

    Julia's Caesar was a famous and important leader that the Roma people even named a month after him, July-for Julia's. Julia's was an able administrator and a famous general. He wrote new laws and changed and approved how to rule the provinces of the empire.

    Cicero was a famous writer and orator. He lived during the time of Julia's Caesar. Cicero new Julia's and both were popular and powerful politicians. Both were successful generals. Cicero was also talented author.

    Ancient Romans loved pomp and spectacle. The Roman legion had that. Each legion had its own banner ,and name and even number. Each legion also had trumpet players, drummers, and noise makers.

    Roman gladiators would fight in areas around the Roman Empire. Gladiators were mostly slaves, but some gladiators were Roman men wanting to make money. Different gladiator types include murmillo, retiaritus,samite and thracian. Lions,tigers,and other animals were realeast to challenge gladiators.

    Roman aqeducts were consructed to alow a constant flow of water to be brought into Roman cities and towns. This water would supplie roman baths, toilets,fountains, and private households.

    The Romans were the first peaple to invent concrete. They used it to build the dome of the pantheon, coloseum, and the circus maximus and many other things. One impressive feat were the Roman aqeducts.

    the atrium: The atrium is a formal entrance hall. It was a large airy room lighted by an opening in the roof. It was often used for family occasions.
    THE CUBICULUM: The cubicula were small rooms used for a number of different purposes, mostly as bedrooms.
    THE CULINA: The culina was a kitchen that was usually small,dark,and poorly ventilated.

    THE EXEDRA: The exedra was a garden room. It was a large, elegant room. Garden themes were painted on the walls. It was used for formal entertainments and lavish dinner parties.
    THE PERISTYLIUM: The peristylium was an indoor garden.

    The Roman Senate passed all the laws, and collected all of the taxes. All the members of the Senate were of the Patrician or wealthy- land owner class.

    The roman republic was in trouble. It had three major problems. Money, Graft and corruption, and crime. The Roman republic needed money to pay legions, to build roads, sewers, aqueducts, arenas, and the poor. Under Roman law you could pay someone to vote for you. The consruction companies bribed the the senate to make consruction contracts. This was corrupt. Crime was running wild in rome and since there was no police force it couldn't be stopped, The roman republic failed.
