A new leader
Julius Caesar becomes the first dictator of Rome. -

The assasination
Julius Caesar is assassinated on the Ides of March by Marcus Brutus and a civil war breaks out. It was Known as the Liberator's Civil War to avenge Caesar's death in 44 BCE. The war was from 43 to 42 BCE. -
27 BCE
Roman Empire founded
The Roman Empire is founded by Augustus Caesar and proclaims himself the first emperor of Rome in 31 BCE. -

Rome is lit up
Imperator Nero Cladius Divi Claudius filius Caesar Augustus Germanicus sets fire to Rome and he blames the Christians for it. -

The Colosseum (Flavian Amphitheatre is the original name) is built and it is celebrated by 100 days of games. Romans invade Scotland. -

The Hadrian Wall is built in an effort to keep the barbarians out, as it stretched along northern England. The wall took 6 years to build and it was 80 miles long and 15 feet tall. -

A new path
Flavius Valerius Constantinus becomes Emperor. Rome becomes a Christian Empire. Before this occurred Rome persecuted Christians. -

The split
Rome split into 2 Empires - The West Roman Empire and the East Roman Empire. Each side had a leader in charge of it. The Roman Empire was split by Theodosius I after he died. -

The fall
The Visigoths took control over Rome during this period. It was the first time Rome had fallen to the enemy in 800 years. -

End of the west
The fall of and end of Ancient Rome along with the West Roman Empire. It is the start of the Dark Ages in Europe as Romulus Augustus is defeated by the German Goth Odoacer. -

The Easts defeat
The East Roman Empire known as Byzantine Empire ends during 1453. It falls to the Ottoman Empire. That is the end of the Roman Empire entirely.
