Canada was to carry out military help to Britain so the war was elevated around Canada to persuade Canadian men to join the war. It would keep going for over 4 years and slaughter around 9 million individuals in uniform. This happens to be an event which, the world could never go back to. (-2)

    Even though it was not permissible for a female to physically participate in the battles, they still played a huge role in winning the war. They were called to assist emergency health care to the wounded. They also worked hard taking care of their friends and families, and not until later factories were built and soon later women were seen working, manufacturing ammunition. After the war had ended women had proven they are capable of doing what a man can do. (1)

    The Battle of Passchendaele, otherwise called the third Battle of Ypres, was battled during the first world war from July 31 to November 6 1917. The battle served as a vivid symbol of the mud, madness, and senseless slaughter of the Western Front. After 3 months of constant combat the British and Canadian troops were victorious. The win came at a very large cost for such a piece of land. (1)

    Halifax experienced a tragedy on 6 December 1917 when two boats crashed in the city's harbor, one of them loaded with explosives. What followed was one of the biggest human-made blasts before the explosion of the atomic bomb in 1945. The north finish of Halifax was cleared out by the impact and ensuing torrent. 2000 individuals were killed and 9000 were left injured. (-2)
