on the same morning as the attack on pearl harbour the japanese attacked british hong kong they did not declar war on britin so britin did not see it coming but it was met with strong defences. within a week the defenders aboandond the main land and within two weeks after that the colany surrenderd. it is significant because Canada had sent the Brigades from both the East and West part of Canada where by proving that French speaking and English speaking troops under one flag could co-exist -

156000 british, amarican and canadian forces landsed on a 50 mile stretch on france's northern coast thay did it to test germanys defences it was a masive failur 900 soldiers died in one morning and 2000 were taken prisoner. this is significant because it was a total failur and we needed to learn from are mistakes -

allied forces invaded western europe along an 80 kilomiter front in normendy france. it was the biggining of the end of the war the invation was sucsesful because they pushed the germans back out of france. this is significant because three diferent coutries worked together and defeted germany.
