Week 7 Ian Hacking

  • Ian Hacking born: 1936

    Ian Hacking was born in Canada in the providence of British Columbia. He is famous for his work among the concept of probability and philosophy of language. He wrote several books that made him famous. One of the most popular books is called The Taming of Chance. This books talks about probability and its importance to peoples daily lives. This book was released in 1990 and eventually was recognized as one of the top 100 non-fiction books by The Modern Library

    Ian Hacking had a goal to break down boundaries so that people could see the difference between science and humanities. Hacking is a very educated man and has degrees among math and physics up to the PHD level. Additionally Ian Hacking was a professor both in the United States and i abroad. He eventually moved back to Canada and became very involved with the University of Toronto. He as named one of the top philosophers by Canada's Council of Arts.
